Abstract
The last decade has seen remarkable progress in person-centred care (PCC) measurement. Organisations worldwide have adopted instruments that assess person-centred practices, patient experiences, and patient-reported outcomes. Yet a critical question remains: do our current measures truly capture what matters most to the individual?
As healthcare increasingly embraces personalised and value-based care, new opportunities and challenges for measurement are emerging. However, questions are now being asked about how existing measures might be complemented to better capture the goals, preferences, priorities and outcomes that matter most to each person.
This session brings together international and local leaders to explore the evolution and future of person-centred measurement. Rather than asking simply whether care is person-centred, the discussion will challenge participants to consider whether current measurement systems adequately demonstrate the value created for individuals, families, clinicians and health systems. The speakers will also examine emerging approaches that extend beyond standardised scores towards understanding goal attainment, goal-concordant care, co-created value and person-defined outcomes.
