Professor Eliza Wong is a Registered Nurse in Canada and Hong Kong, holding an MPH and a PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and is an Accredited Mediator.

Professor Wong’s work is driven by a commitment to understanding and improving patients’ experiences, outcomes, and quality of life across the healthcare system. Her research focuses on patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), patient experience, and advancing patient-centred care through implementation science and policy evaluation. In collaboration with the University of Oxford, she led the development and validation of Hong Kong’s first population-based patient experience measure and directed the territory’s inaugural benchmarking survey across all public hospitals, ensuring that patients’ voices could inform service improvement and health policy. She has also secured competitive funding to validate the Hong Kong EQ-5D-5L and EQ-5D-Y instruments and establish local value sets for measuring health-related quality of life.
