Dr Angel Lee is trained as a geriatrician with a sub-specialty in Palliative Medicine. She was part of the team who set up the first hospital based palliative care service in Singapore at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 1996. She was subsequently seconded to Dover Park Hospice in 2009 where she helped to helped to build an integrated palliative care service involving home care, inpatient hospice care and acute hospital care. The DPH team also supported the TTSH Project CARE team, which is a nursing home outreach team, thereby supporting the coverage of nursing home residents with palliative care needs in the central area of Singapore. She was subsequently seconded to St Andrew's Community Hospital and helped to set up the first inpatient palliative care ward in a community hospital in 2015. This led to the building up of palliative care capability in the nursing homes in the East with Changi General Hospital's EAGLECare team and St Andrew's Nursing Homes. As the Group Medical Director, she oversees the clinical work of the community hospital, nursing homes, senior care centres and active aging centres of the St. Andrew's Mission Hospital and Singapore Anglican Community Services.
