Prof Shin Soye

Assistant Professor, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore

Professor Shin Soye is an Assistant Professor at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. Her research lies at the intersection of behavioural, experimental, and health economics, with a focus on enhancing community welfare and supporting marginalised populations. Through randomised trials and econometric analysis of large-scale secondary data, her work investigates the individual and environmental drivers of health-related choices—particularly dietary habits—to design cost-effective interventions for chronic disease prevention.

Professor Shin earned her PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Georgia in 2019. Her international development experience includes serving as a researcher at the Korea Small Business Institute, where she focused on agricultural cooperative policies for rural development in Honduras, as well as working as a programme coordinator at the Korea International Cooperation Agency’s overseas office in Colombia.
